Global Biodiversity Standard Launched

The Quantum2 Global Biodiversity Standard is a world first in biodiversity verification, using a triple-layer of sustainability validation – covering land, water and air, financial algorithmic verification, BREEAM+ for sustainable development and broad sustainable verification mapping to United Nations EP FI, European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS – https://www.unepfi.org/impact/interoperability/european-sustainability-reporting-standards-esrs/ ) amongst other standards such as the GHG Protocol and ISO.

With more than 20 years' experience in sustainable development, agriculture, land management and biodiversity, the Quantum2 team has launched a new Global Biodiversity Verification Standard and Methodology.

Quantum2 has led verification and validation with the Quantum2 360 Sustainability Program, successfully used across its own projects to generate trustworthy and reportable biodiversity metrics.

The Quantum2 Global Biodiversity Standard aims to become the go-to methodology for biodiversity validation and verification in a way that is accessible and inexpensive, while still scientifically proven and exceeding many US, UK and European norms.

"Businesses want to be rigorous, scientific and secure but also keep sustainable costs low or profitable, eliminate complexity and unnecessary administration. That is the balance we aim for with the Global Biodiversity Standard," explains Hadley Barrett, Quantum2 thought leader.

Quantum2 has long been advocating for Sustainability to become Simple and Profitable instead of complex and loss-making.

It is true that many new government requirements and even voluntary standards just add layer upon layer of bureaucracy and paperwork to sustainability. Actually, the result for the planet and society is what counts. Overburdensome regulation and unnecessary complexity takes money away from real sustainable progress.

Companies are spending more and more time on measurements, reporting and risk analysis which could be better spent on actions that actually deliver sustainable outcomes.

There is no cost to use the methodology. For any interested parties, Quantum2 has also agreed to introduce the concept to companies looking to achieve the best results when thinking about sustainability, metrics and/or using the Quantum2 Global Biodiversity Standard.
